 Certificate III Early Childhood Educator

Merri Community Childcare Centre and Kindergarten Inc (Merri CCC & K Inc) is seeking a committed and highly motivated Certificate III Early Childhood Educator to work in the Explorers Room.  Merri CCC & K Inc is a 49 place parent managed Community Based Child Care Centre & Kindergarten located in Thornbury (Victoria 3071).  Merri CCC & K Inc is committed to high quality care for young children in a caring, supportive, nurturing & educational environment.  Merri CCC & K Inc is a child safe and equal opportunity employer.

If successful you will be engaged on a permanent full-time basis, and will rotate on a 2-year basis through roles in all four children’s rooms run by the Centre (Please see Position Description/Applicant Information)

The successful applicant will enjoy above award employment conditions such as;

  • A fortnightly Rostered Day Off
  • Working in a above child-to-staff ratios
  • Rotating shifts; early, middle, late
  • 2.5 hours of weekly program planning time with team leaders
  • On-going training and development support
  • Excellent resources, equipment and information technology

The successful applicant must have;

  • An approved Early Childhood qualification (Certificate III in Children’s Services) as set out by the Education and Care Services National Regulations
  • Proficiency in English both written and oral 
  • Previous experience working with children
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework
  • Passion for Early Childhood Education & Care 
  • Ability to work in Australia
  • Effective communication skills and excellent team work
  • A current Police check (not more than 6 months old) 
  • A current Working with Children Check 
  • Two recent referees (1 must be most current or current employer)
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis Certificate, Asthma Certificate
