The philosophy & curriculum at Merri Community Childcare Centre & Kindergarten Inc.
At Merri Community Childcare Centre and Kindergarten Inc, we believe that children learn through play. Play is a component essential in building and shaping children’s development for their future. Through emerging play, experimentation, exploration, movement and using their senses, children grow and learn about themselves, about others and most importantly about the world around them. As Early Childhood Educator’s we draw on our skills & knowledge of child development and the ‘Belonging, Being & Becoming’ Early Years Learning Framework to deliver high quality education and care. Through the use of our diverse teaching styles and practices we aim to provide a curriculum where children’s learning is inclusive, dynamic, complex and holistic. We recognise the child within the context of the family and their community. We believe that children thrive when families and early childhood educators work in partnership to support children's learning.
