DESCRIPTION:Summer and Winter Solstice | Geoscience Australia (ga.gov.au) \nThe winter solstice is the day of the year that has the least daylight hours of any in the year. \nOn the winter solstice\, the sunrise is not the latest and the sunset is not the earliest. However\, this day does have the least amount of daylight hours. \nBecause the path of the Earth around the Sun is an ellipse\, not a circle\, and because the Earth is off-centre on its axis\, these combined phenomena can create up to several minutes difference between solar and mean time. Around the winter solstice\, the time of sunrise continues to get later in the days after the solstice. \n

DESCRIPTION:\nTo volunteer\, please go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and enter code sdgcn\n\n\n\n\nOption 1 Book yourself in for the entire Bush Kinder session (arrive at Merri no later than 9.10am\, travel with the group via tram to the site and take part in full session at Strettle St Parklands. Depart parklands and return back to Merri from the site via tram no later than 12.30pm).\nOption 2 Book yourself in for the tram ride to the Bush Kinder session site (ONLY) (arrive at Merri no later than 9.10am) travel with the group via tram to the site.  Feel free to leave the site once the group arrives at the site (i.e.\, Strettle Wetlands Reserve).\nOption 3 Book yourself in for the tram ride from the Bush Kinder session site (ONLY) (arrive at Strettle Wetlands Reserve\, Strettle St no later 11:45am and travel back to Merri from the site via tram\, arriving no later than 12.30pm).\nYou will need to bring the following items:\n\nWater Bottle\nHat\nClosed Toe Shoes\nSnack (optional and nut free)\nLong Sleeved Top\nDress to weather\nYour preferred sunscreen (or Generic Sunscreen is available for all volunteers)\nMyki card not required as we you will be able to travel on our group travel PTv pass.  Please note that you will require your own Myki if you are not traveling with the group.\n\n\n\n\n\nAll volunteers must have up to date Covid-19 vaccination and have a Working With Children Check. \n
